Cordillera Blanca 2019 Expedition Dispatches

Dispatch #1 – June 15th, 2019 – Lima

Our team members are now arriving in Lima and tomorrow we will take the VIP bus service to Huaraz, where we will spend three nights for acclimatization.

We let our team members make their own schedules for the two full days we are in Huaraz, so some will go for day hikes or mountain bike rides, whilst others may decide to explore the town and discover some of the many great restaurants that Huaraz has to offer.

Dispatch #4 – June 23rd, 2019 – Ishinca Refugio

The team completed the second climb with the summit of Ishinca. The climb was slightly longer than Urus Este due to the longer approach to get to crampon point. Tomorrow will be another rest day as we plan to depart at midnight for our ascent of Tocllaraju.

Dispatch #5 – June 27th, 2019 – Huaraz

We are now back in Huaraz getting ready for the bus ride to Lima. One of our members took the night bus last night, and another member will be staying in Huaraz and completing some more climbs in the amazing Cordillera Blanca.

The summit day on Tocllaraju was longer than the two previous acclimatization climbs but was worth it with amazing views from the summit.

Our last evening at the refugio was spent celebrating with another expedition team and fun was had by all.
